Chapter 5

Serena sat in her room. She had finally called it hers. It was the day after she went to the “main land” as they call it. All her things were put away. She stayed by Charlotte , Dawn and Thalia most of the day. Now she was just sitting with Thalia. She got along with Thalia the most. They were talking when the door banged open. Damon stormed in. Thalia pushed Serena out of the way when Damon lunged at her. It wasn't enough, Damon pushed Thalia aside. He picked up Serena who was whimpering and crying. Without a thought he sunk his sharp fangs into her neck. She struggled and screamed until her body went limp. Thalia watched her brother in pure horror and shock.

“YOUR GOING TO KILL HER” she yelled. Aleron walked into the room.

“DAMON!” Aleron yelled. Damon released Serena who limply fell onto the bed. Damon looked fazed. His eyes closed as he fell to the ground.

Brightvale – Unclaimed Kingdom

Both Serena and Damon lay unconscious in the healers chamber. Serena opened her eyes and started screaming at once. Thalia calmed her.

“Where am I?” she said.

“Were in Brightvale” Thalia said. Serena placed her fingers on the puncture wounds. Tears started to stream down her face.

“he tried to kill me” she said. Thalia said nothing. Damon almost killed them both. If it wasn't for Charlotte they would both be dead.

“Charlotte saved you, both of you” she said.

“Why did he try to kill me” she said.

“he didn't intentionally try to kill you, he's attracted to your blood because your soul mates and he was being selfish himself because he hadn't fed in weeks. So when he tasted your blood he went on a rampage.” Aleron said walking in. he looked from his presently unconscious son to Serena. “if you both weren't so stubborn maybe this wouldn't have happened.”

Damon sat up. Serena jumped and hid behind Thalia.

“What the hell happened?” Damon asked.

“You almost killed your girlfriend” came a new voice. Everyone looked up.

“Nizel” Aleron said. Serena edged away from him and towards Damon. Nizel said evil, Pure Evil. Hell Damon could try to kill Serena a million times and she would still feel safer.

“Where's Regan?” Nizel asked. Serena felt Damon wince. He didn't remove his protective arm from Serena.

“She died in an accident Brother” Aleron said.

'I'm sorry to hear that Damon” Nizel said though his expression said he was amused.

“I'm sure you are you bastard” Damon said. Nizel pretended to be offended.

“Remember Nephew I am your elder and I shall be respected” Nizel said. Nizel turned to Aleron

“Well I see where I'm not wanted” Nizel said. Aleron didn't say anything. Without a goodbye Nizel disappeared out of thin air. Damon looked down at Serena. He didn't remove his arm. Serena stepped away from Damon. Thalia and Aleron stepped out of the room.

Serena turned around to face Damon.

“You tried to kill me” she yelled. Damon didn't say anything “how could you, you don't even know me”

“You have no idea” Damon said “what I've gone through”

“No you have no idea what i've gone through to be taken away from the life i've lived since birth to watch my bestfriend and fiance find out I died when really i'm here with your sorry ass” she said “I hate you and I hate your family I should have had a choice” serena choked. Her voice strained.

“Instead I get stuck with you an ungrateful and self-centered asshole” Damon stormed out of the room. Serena collapsed onto the floor. She was living a nightmare. She brushed her fingers against where he had bitten her. It was aching. This certainly couldn't be happening. Thalia helped her off the floor.

“are you okay?” she asked. Serena didn't say anything. “Were going back to Dalkieth” Serena just nodded
