Chapter 3

No one had told Serena anything. She at quietly at a dining table surrounded by unfamiliar people with a plate of untouched food that will probably go to waste. They were all staring at her. She had her arms crossed over her chest.

“My dear you haven't eaten anything since you've been here” Aleron said.

“I told you before I'm not hungry” Serena replied. She had been here two days and she had asked many questions but they all went unanswered. There was a knock on the door.

“Enter” Aleron said.

“ Sire, Master Damonn has left with all his things. All his possessions are gone” A man said as he bowed before them. Aleron stood.

“Very well. Thank you for the message.” Aleron said. He turned to look at Serena “he will be back, He won't stay away long”

“Father do you think he will come back” came one of the guys she recognized as Blake from when the girl said his name when they abducted her. Aleron smiled. He stood.

“Serena my dear why don't we go for a walk and we can talk” Aleron offered.

“I think I'll pass” she said.

“Very well. Thalia, Dawn and Charlotte will show you to your room” he said. He smiled at her hostility and protective wall she was building.

Serena sat on the window seat and stared out at the rising sun. She was back in the room she had been in when she woke. Charlotte, Thalia and Dawn lounged on the bed and watched her. The room felt empty and Serena's heart ached, and she didn't know why. She had thought that she would be missing Cal by now but nothing. She hadn't even thought of him until this very moment. Ever since the man announced that Damon had left she'd felt empty..

“Do you want to talk about anything, anything at all?” Dawn asked trying to make light of the situation and start a conversation. Serena didn't answer

“I'd really appreciate it if you could help me get home” Serena said sort of hoping they would. At the same time she knew they wouldn't.

“Serena whether you like it or not this is your home” Dawn said.

“DON”T I HAVE A SAY IN THIS. I DON”T LIKE YOUR BROTHERAND I DON”T BELONG HERE” Serena yelled. Dawn didn't look phased.. She took it..

“I was like you once only I wasn't kidnapped. I came here on my own will of course. Once I found out everything I wanted to leave but I couldn't. They wouldn't let me and once I met Marcus and I found out we were soul mates I didn't want to leave. You'll eventually get used to the idea” she said with a smile.

“What do you mean found out everything?” Serena questioned. Dawn looked at Charlotte and Thalia.

“Only my father or Damonn can tell you” Thalia said.

Serena looked back out the window.
“Why does your brother hate me so much?” Serena asked.

“Like I said only my father or Damon can answer your questions” Thalia said.

“Where's your father?” Serena asked.

Serena and Aleron walked out onto a balcony that overlooked the town of Dalkieth in the Vampire Kingdom.

“I'm glad you decided to talk to me but I am only able to tell you certain things. And I would like you to keep an open mind” he said. Serena nodded.

“You are on the island of Sange Luna, it is an island surrounded by an invisible barrier to conceal it from the human eye” he said

“wait the human eye. Were all human here” Serena said. Aleron sighed.

“Do you have an open mind?” he asked her. Serena nodded. “Humans are not the only specie on the planet. On this island you will find humans but not very many especially outside this kingdom” he said Serena looked confused.

“What else inhibits this island?” she asked.

“Vampires, Witches, werewolves and shapeshifters among other things.” he said. Serena started laughing.

“Please tell me your joking” she said. He was dead serious.

“I told you to have an open mind” he said

“Okay lets say your not joking” she said.

“the island is split up into kingdoms and the kingdoms into cities. My castle which is where we are right now is in the city of Dalkieth. It is the main city in the vampire kingdom” he said. We looked off the balcony and down into the valley where the people of Dalkieth were waking up.

“I don't believe any of this” Serena said

“Only my son can make you believe” he said.

“is he going to kill me?” she asked

“He can't kill you. Its impossible” he said

“I don't understand” she said

“Like I said I can't make you understand or believe any of this” he said “only Damon can and as you can see he isn't here”

“is he...why is he mad at me?” she asked

“no he's mad at the situation” Aleron replied. Serena sighed.

“I don't believe any of this I want to go home” she said.

“I'm sorry that's not possible. Either you stay here and await my son or I can offer that you work here in the castle with the rest of the human servants until your convinced” he said “its your choice but just know that my son's life lies in your hands and your life in his hands”
