Chapter 2

Dalkieth – Vampire Kingdom – Sange Luna Island

Damon stormed into his fathers office.

“I TOLD YOU I DIDN”T WANT ANYONE BUT REGAN” he shouted. Aleron took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose before sighing and looking up at his eldest son.

“Hello Damon I'm glad to see you too” Aleron said. “Hows Talberon?”

“Father” Damon said obviously frustrated and trying to gain control of his emotions before he exploded.

“Damon, Regan is dead” Aleron said delicately. He winced when anger washed up on Damon's face. Damon pounded his fists on the desk his father sat behind shaking everything on it, making papers flutter off the desk and making his fathers glass of scotch shatter.

“Calm down” Aleron said. He hated how pathetic his son looked and had looked since the death of the human girl he had been engaged to and was willing to change. “Marcus and Blake brought someone back from the main land. Someone very special”

Angered once again Damon pounded his fists on his fathers desk this time the desk made a loud cracking noise. The desk which was supposed to be made of the strongest wood split evenly in two. Papers and books fluttering to the ground at their feet.

“I DON”T WANT ANYONE BUT REGAN” Damon yelled.

“Damon she wasn't your soul mate. You have to let this go and move on” Aleron said “She was merely a distraction” At that moment there was a knock on the door.

“Come in” Aleron said. A human man walked in.

“Sire Master Blake, Master Marcus, Lady Thalia and Lady Charlotte have returned with the human girl” he replied bowing low before them.

“Have Blake and Marcus bring her in and send someone to clean up this mess” Aleron said. Damon huffed and grumbled before crossing his arms.

“As you wish” the man said. He bowed again and left the room closing the door behind him.

After a few moments Aleron's son's Blake and Marcus walked in followed by Thalia his daughter and Blake's fiancee Charlotte and the human girl.

Serena lay unconscious in Blake's arms.

“Any trouble?” Aleron asked

“None” Blake said. Thalia pulled off the hooded cloak that was concealing her. She was a rare beauty, dark auburn colored hair that was wavy and long.. Damon felt a pull to her almost immediately although he ignored it. He hated that feeling. His temper flared. Blake nearly dropped Serena. Damon growled. Everyone looked at him. Damon walked over to Blake and took Serena from his arms. He walked towards the doors that led out of the office. He turned around before he left and glared at his father. A smile crept up on Aleron's face as he watched his eldest son take control. It wasn't that Damon wanted to but the soul mate bond between the two made him take control. He would learn soon enough.

Damon stood at the doors to the balcony staring at the big bright moon. He couldn't explain the feeling that he hated so much. The feeling that had been non-existent when he had been with Regan. This girl he didn't even know had him on his feet whenever she groaned or moved, even just the tiniest bit. He wanted to hate her but everytime he looked at her he couldn't see hate. It was impossible to hate someone that made him have these feelings he didn't want to feel. It angered him that he couldn't hate her. But all that vanished when he looked at her. He wanted to build a wall around it and lock it so it couldn't vanish. But that was impossible. He couldn't understand it. Looking at his brothers and the girls they were with it was like looking at another couple completely. It was like he didn't know them when they were together and it looked like he didn't exist in their perfect world. You couldn't even explain it to another person.

The only person he could talk to was his younger sister Thalia. She hadn't found her “Soul Mate” yet. But even then it was hard. It felt like he was talking in a completely different language and she didn't understand sometimes.

He turned around to face the bed as she groaned.

Serena opened her eyes. All she saw was darkness. At first she thought she was in her apartment. But she wasn't alone.

“Cal come back to bed” she said. No answer. Then she realized she wasn't back in her apartment. She looked around panicking. She saw an outline of a male or at least what she thought was a male. Itr wasn't Cal. She knew that definitely. She felt a pull towards the male who was standing by the glass doors staring at her.

“Where am I?” she asked

“on an island” he replied. His voice was both unfamiliar and familiar.

“Your not going to hurt me are you?' she asked slightly terrified. He felt her emotions for the first time that night. He was immediately filled with her fear but he pushed that aside.

“I haven't decided” he said. His voice was now strained like he couldn't for the right words.

Serena's POV

There was a knock on a door to the right, before it opened and light from a hallway filled the room.

“She's awake” came a familiar female voice. A girl walked into the room. She had light brown hair that was loosely curled. She was tall but very tiny. She sat on the end of the bed.

“I'm glad to see that she's alive” she said

“I couldn't kill her no matter how much I want to” he said. He was now facing the glass doors, They were talking like I didn't exist. The girl snorted. The guy turned to glare at the girl.

“You have no idea how it feels to have feelings for someone you barely know when you want to love somebody else” he all but yelled. It came out strained like before. “and you have no idea what these feelings feel like”

“and you have no idea what it feels like to love someone your forbidden to love” she replied.

“Children enough” came a male voice. They both looked up.

“Thalia, Damon argue elsewhere” he said Damon stormed out. Aleron looked at his only daughter

“We will talk about that later” he said. Thalia nodded.
